Laddie and Bella have their sheets on!

For the first time this season, Laddie and Bella have their sheets on. It hasn't gotten out of the 30s all day, and it's raining. (And yes, I still live in Virginia!) Nasty, cold rain - yuck!

I don't typically start with sheets until it gets quite cold, and reserve the blankets for windy, snowy, and cold weather, or just stretches of super-cold; but, between the cold, the rain, and the wind, I decided I'd rather have the horses dry and cozy, especially since I'm still working on putting more weight on Laddie. I know the debate rages about blanketing vs not blanketing - I just do what works for me and my horses. They do have a nice old open barn for shelter, but I really like to keep them dry when it's cold. Laddie, especially, I try to keep dry. His thick coat holds moisture and he can get rain rot very easily. I use Equiderma Skin Lotion if he does get some rain rot or general crud, and it works like magic, but I'd rather avoid any problems where possible!

This week's blog post is about the benefits of coaching for horsewomen. You can read it here.

I'm going to have a couple of holiday offers over the next few weeks for my coaching, courses, and Etsy shop items, so make sure to check your emails on the next few Tuesdays - these offers are going to be for a very limited time only - and I'm super-excited about the value I'll be offering!

I hope you and your horses have a wonderful week, and that it's not 37 degrees and raining where you are!

Best,

Penny

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I'm sorry this email is arriving to you a day late - add tech gremlins and a migraine to a holiday week and it just throws everything off! Last week I promised a 25% discount on The Horsey Life Planners from my Etsy shop. They're available in both printable and digital format - the digital version works on your tablet with a program like Goodnotes. The coupon code is SAVE25, and it's good through December 8th. As an added bonus, if you purchase a...

Last week's rain and warmer temperatures deserted us yesterday in favor of some light snow,❄️ wind, and high temps in the 40s. It. Was. Not. Pleasant! I guess considering it's nearly the end of November, I can't really complain! I'm having a great time writing weekly posts for Aging Horsewomen International over on Facebook. The longer versions are on my blog, as usual. Information about my new course and how to become a beta tester will be in next week's newsletter - you'll be able to take...

August23, 2023 Late summer changes & challenges. For those of you who stuck with my long email last week - thank you! This week's will be much shorter, I promise. 😁 The days are also getting shorter, and, in contrast to the spring shedding season which heralds warmer weather, late summer's shed is a whole different feeling. Having grown up in CT, fall was not my favorite time of year, because it ushered in a long, cold, and dark winter. Not Alaska-strength long, cold, and dark, but dark...
